LATIN CLASS RULES
1.
Class always
begins with a silent activity
2.
Listen with the intent
to understand
3.
One person speaks, and
the others listen
4.
Use hand signals if
you have a question or do not understand
5.
Provide short
entertaining answers, avoid using English
6.
Sit up...Squared
shoulders....Clear eyes
7.
Class is not over
until I tell you it is over
Every 1-2 weeks, students will
receive a participation grade (25% of overall) based on the following 10 point rubric
(yes/no):
1. Student is making eye
contact with Mr. Piazza at least 80% of the time.
2. responds with enthusiasm
WHEN APPROPRIATE
3. listens with the intent to
understand
4. shows up for class on time
(unless excused with a note) and is ready to learn when he enters the room.
5. sits in a way that conveys
RESPECT for the class (square shoulders, clear eyes, no fussing with things).
6. does not use English at
inappropriate times
7. offers short, entertaining
and appropriate answers to Mr. PiazzaÕs questions.
8. does not interrupt class
with restroom and water requests (uses hand signals).
9. indicates to Mr. Piazza each
time he does not understand (uses hand signals).
10.
shows up with an ÒI want to learnÓ attitude.
